Viking after Tsunami article

On Sunday of  26 Dec. 2004 ,massive waves triggered by the largest earthquake to shake the planet in more than 40 years have wiped out coastal areas across parts of Asia, killing more than 11,000 people . One witness said Phuket's famed Laguna Beach resort area is "completely gone." The area provided 40 percent of Thailand's $10 billion annual income from tourism. Among the deaths was the grandchild of King Bhumiphol and Queen Sirikit.
It is the fourth-largest earthquake since such measurements began in 1899, according to the NEIC, tying with a 1952 quake in Kamchatka, Russia.
Most of the Islands in Andaman sea included the remote small Island where unidentified species Nepenthes  "Viking"  grow , were heavily damaged. On some plain Islands , the surface soil was completely disappeared.
Vikings can be found on very remote Islands , probably  one Island indeed . This Island is located  in Adaman sea - The sea famous to all tourists  by its beautiful beaches located on coastal area of Phuket and Phang - Nga provinces .

And  there are only 2 -3 Thai families in a small  village who know this secret .They keep their mouths  shut because  this secret Island is just like a Treasure Island for their families to earn their livings. Someone  believe  it’s a myth or a pirate tale.

This savannah once was a paradise of marvellous Vikings

NeoExoticPlants has also known members of those 2 families for more than 10 years. They told us that the Vikings grow on this Island only . And the area plants grow is only 4-5 Rai (approx. 2 acres).
After Tsunami , we're so worried of our agents on the Island , our nursery in the South and those rare plants of their extinction.
I just knew  why that a         On 29 Dec. , I heard a lot of news with deep regret.More than 20,000 fishing families have been severely affected by the tsunami which ravaged six southern coastal provinces on Sunday. One of those families is one whom I was so worried about because their humble cottage was 15 meters from the beach.Bung , his wife and two children were whom I tried to make contact by phone since the disaster. The line returned no signal everytime .I just knew  why that afternoon.Half of the village was swept  out to sea . Their cottage with bodies were found under  5 feet deep sand and mud . Bung was the one who took picture of Viking in the wild for me . He helpt me collect data of Vikings in their natural habitat .

This pic was taken before Tsunami . But now soil is soaked with sea water. Salt is crystallizing when exposed to strong sunlight .

Late evening , a call from Phang_Nga province again. Nearly all area of plainland on the Island where Vikings grew are covered with sea mud. Local villager who I contacted said all  Vikings might have been swept into the ocean already  because they grow  in area only 2 acres of savanna-like plainland at sea level. No one dare going out to explore. One of the experts in Thailand believes this Island where  the only Vikings grow , or at least the best original Vikings grow, has already completely destroyed.

On 15 Jan. 2005 , when the monsoon passed by , our agent followed an Islander to explore the Viking Island and took pics. of the area where Vikings once grew naturally. The pics. clearly showed the  natural habitat of this marvelous Nepenthes was severely destroyed .

The   powerful wave invade 1 km. from the shore and the savannah where wild Vikings grew werebath with salty water.Small plants ,herbs , shrubs ,vines were mostly killed directly by the power of waves. The left are dying by crystalized salt.

Soil erosion and salt water replaceing fresh water in natural reservoirs.

However , there are some Vikings on the hill left, said 10 % . No one knows how long such a cheerful picture will appear to our eyes again.

There's a time , Uppers touch the ground
